Duration: 2-10 days Genomic DNA, plasmid & environmental DNA extraction from diverse samples. DNA/RNA quantification using NanoDrop, Qubit and agarose gel electrophoresis. Primer design, standard PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR optimization & troubleshooting.
2. Sanger Sequencing – Theory, Wet Lab & Data Analysis
Duration: 10-15 days Sample preparation, and cycle sequencing reaction setup. Capillary electrophoresis and electropherogram interpretation. Sequence editing using Chromas / SnapGene. BLAST analysis, multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis.
3. Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Hands-on Training
Duration: 15 days | 1 month | 3-6 months dissertation End-to-End Metagenomics sequencing. AMR panels (Focus on Oxford Nanopore Technology). NGS fundamentals: Short-read vs. Long-read sequencing. Library preparation for Nanopore (Ligation & amplicon sequencing). Quality control, adapter trimming, metagenomics analysis and hybrid assembly.
4. Advanced Bioinformatics & Computational Genomics
Duration: 1 month | 3 months Desktop bioinformatics to cloud computing (AWS/Google). Linux command line, bash scripting and HPC basics. FASTQ quality control (FastQC, MultiQC). Read alignment, variant calling (SNPs, InDels). RNA-Seq differential expression analysis.
